Nesbitt Fruit Products Inc. - Makers of Nesbitt Or The Nesbitt Fruit Products has an interesting past. It was founded by Hugh S. Nesbitt, who traces his ancestors to Indiana, PA. The company was founded in 1924 in Los Angeles and produced its famous Nesbitt's Orange Soda base for soda fountains, adding the famous bottled soft drink in 1939. Mr. Nesbitt died in 1943 but the company carried on. After selling the recipe and rights to the name in 1972, Nesbitt's Orange was produced by a string of companies in the southern states. The trademark is currently owned by Big Red of Waco, Texas, but is currently not being produced.
