Raw maple lumber occassionally unveils a figured grain that when lovingly finished can take your breath away. But it is not easy feat, the process of dyeing tiger maple to make the grain really pop takes 5 days!
"Curly Soft Maple occurs naturally in only 2-5% of all soft maple trees. At the present time only about 20% of the figured soft maple is over 9 inches wide. No two pieces of figured maple from the same tree are identical. They are a lot like human family in this respect.
